OLATHE EAST CROSS COUNTRY
SHAWNEE MISSION PARK PRACTICE
Saturday, 8/24/19

TIME: 8 am to about 9 am

PLACE: We will meet in the Visitor Center/ Park Police Parking Lot, 7900 Renner Road. Take Renner Road to the Shawnee Mission Park Entrance on 79th Street….Turn left into the park. The Visitor Center is right at the entrance to the park, we meet in the parking lot behind that station. This entrance is about a ¼ to ½ mile south of the Theatre in the Park entrance. If the Visitor Center parking lot is blocked we will park in the parking area about a ¼ mile west of Center.

COME DRESSED TO RUN.

DIRECTIONS FROM OLATHE EAST: Go North on Blackbob to 119th Street, Turn West (left) left on 119th to Renner Road (across the I-35 bridge). Go North on Renner. The Park entrance is about 6 miles north of 119th street. Allow yourself around 15 to 20 minutes driving time.

Join us for the OEXC Parent Meeting on Tuesday, August 20th at 6pm in the Drama Theatre. Coaches will discuss what the season will look like and what to expect of our OEXC runners.

Registration and fees will be accepted for Booster Club. Click here for the registration form and information about OEXC Booster Club! We are a group of very enthusiastic parents who work with the Coaches to provide financial, logistical and motivational support for the Cross Country team. We also have a little fun too!

Official Practice starts Monday, August 19th BUT locker checkout will be on Friday, August 16th after school. IMPORTANT! All runner’s MUST turn in their athletic forms to the athletic office before they can participate in practice. Forms can be found and printed here: OE Athletic Forms

The start of OEXC is one short week away! Here are a few dates to note:

August 19th – Official practice begins after school
August 20th – Parent Meeting @ 6pm OE Drama Theatre
August 24th – Practice at Shawnee Mission Park – 8am
August 28th – Pizza Shoppe Fundraiser – 5 – 9pm
August 31st – Donut Run and Team Pics
November 6th – Team Banquet (There was a NHS conflict on the 13th so this is the revised date)

This morning’s run has been cancelled due to weather.

This is just a reminder that due to a new rule set by KSHSAA this year concerning coach/student-athlete contact, there will be no organized summer runs this week.  To read the entire rule and rule interpretations please click on the link below.

We are cancelling this morning’s run due to storms arriving about the time runs start.

This week’s runs are at Walnut Grove Elementary – 11800 Pflumm Road – 6:30am. Come join the fun!

Summer conditioning runs start Monday, June 10th at Tomahawk Elementary (6:30am – 7:30am). In case of inclement weather, check the website to see if run has been cancelled for that morning.
